About Me
Hello! I’m Rachel Portee.
I am a dedicated, licensed pediatric occupational therapist! My primary goal as an occupational therapist is to build and enhance the fundamental skills that support children to successfully function in their everyday activities. I believe in approaching therapy with patience, creativity, structure, and, most importantly, fun! By allowing children to express themselves, I build meaningful relationships that enrich our work together. I prioritize helping each child develop their own agency and confidence, taking a holistic approach that considers their unique needs and potential.

My experience spans various environments, including special education private schools, state public schools, and home-based therapy. In each of these settings, I integrate evidence-based practices, utilizing techniques such as Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT), Sensory Integration, Trauma-Informed Care, and Therapeutic Listening to support children in all aspects of their daily lives.

In addition to my career as an occupational therapist, I’m an avid runner and competed in numerous half marathons. The ocean is my happy place—I love spending time at the beach and I’m scuba-certified! As a proud "Disney Adult," I embrace everything Disney-related! I also have a deep love for travel, having explored over 20 countries. One of my most rewarding experiences was studying and practicing occupational therapy in Naromoru, Kenya.

I look forward to being a part of your child's occupational therapy journey!
